Sometimes a fry has a hard time getting out of the shell. What I do when that happens is to gently use a dropper pipette with the barrel cut back (so it is wide) to gently agitate the egg by pulling it into the pipette and pushing it out. The fry will usually pop out of the egg right away.
Yeah...I moved him around a bit. But I wonder if he was just crinkled up because he was dying. Poor lil guy...
Killi breeders will put eggs in a vial with water and walk around with it in their pocket. I don't know if it is worth it in a case like this, but you might try it next time. The eye dropper works well too.
