DIY pvc weir overflow?

    Does anyone have experience or thoughts on using weir pvc overflows as shown in this youtube video:



    Kind of interested in giving it a try for eight 10gallon tanks to make water changes and heating a little easier...

    I had some tanks setup like this for a while, but it was loud, and it is a lot of PVC. It's easier to drill your tanks, IMO.

    I got 2 set up useing them. They have been running for about 2 years now. It is alot for just using them for water changes.

    I have done it, but they can be touchy if they lose siphon, and they take up a lot of space in the tank. I drill...

    drilling tanks is easy and the bits are relatively cheap. once you have done the drilling the sky is the limit for what you use as an overflow guard. I tend to use something that is the right size that I find in the plumbing area of menards.
